How do I schedule an appointment?
Please contact McCarthy Counseling, LLC at +1 (309) 431-1647 to set up an appointment. From there you will have up to a 15 minute phone consult (free) with me to determine if my clinical skills match the concerns and goals you are bringing to counseling.
Counseling services are provided in-person or telehealth by appointment. Prior to your scheduled appointment time I will email you an informed consent/new client packet for you to bring completed to your first appointment. This packet outlines McCarthy Counseling LLC’s policies and procedures, what you can expect during our work together and will assist in gathering required demographic and clinical information.
Do you accept insurance?
McCarthy Counseling, LLC accepts cash, check or credit card as payment for services. I am an
in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna and Health Alliance Insurance. Please contact your insurance provider to check your benefits and confirm that I am in-network prior to your 1st session. If I am considered out-of-network for your plan, I am able to provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement to your insurance provider.
I do contract with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) please call me to discuss accessing these benefits if applicable.
What are your fees?

Good Faith Estimate:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
How long are appointments?
Appointments are between 45 minutes - 60 minutes.
What do I do in an emergency?
McCarthy Counseling, LLC is not an emergency services agency. If you have a life-threatening emergency you should contact 911 and/or go to your nearest hospital emergency room of your choice. Only contact McCarthy Counseling, LLC once you have obtained emergency assistance from 911 or your choice of medical support.
If you need support services outside of your appointment time, the following agencies are excellent resources:
